In 2006 Performance Catamarans and NACRA Europe introduced the NACRA F18 catamaran. Morrelli & Melvin, Peter Vink (Performance Sails, Netherlands), Gunnar Larsen (World Champion F18 sailor) and Jack Young (Performance Catamaran) pooled their talents to develop a smoother sailing, faster F18 catamaran, which pushed the competitive envelope in this box-rule class.

The F18 Infusion sports an evolutionary wave piercing hull design that traces its lineage from Morrelli & Melvin's highly successful A2 A Class catamaran and other championship winning designs. Morrelli & Melvin applied its expertise in developing winning multihull foil designs with advance CFD based methodologies to create revolutionary daggerboards and rudders. Morrelli & Melvin also designed a lightweight, stiff and more aerodynamic mast section for top performing F 18 design.

Named after the method used in construction, the F18 Infusion is the only production catamaran made with this modern Infusion system, which this allows better material weight distribution within the hulls and yields greater stiffness where it is needed. Hull volume, larger than other F18's, means that the Infusion drives hard with handling that is rapid and precise. Wave piercing technology reduces drag and improves speed in all conditions. In contrast to other designs, the NACRA Infusion stabilizes herself at high speed due to dynamic lift, hence reducing pitching to low levels yielding a far more consistent airflow over the sails leading to higher speeds.
