A Long Battle for the Championship
CASCADE LOCKS, OR. AUGUST 15-19, 2005. Sailors were tested with every type of wind - too much, too little and enough to make racing fun. No racing the first day due to too much wind. Once the racing commenced, competition was fierce right up to the final day.

As the last day of racing began, Lars Guck, Ben Hall and Pete Melvin ended up with scores too close to call a winner. Pete and Lars have sailed against each other for years. It was part luck - right time - right place - Pete ended up just edging out Lars in the scores. |

The Gorge ended up testing all of the competitors sailing skills. Racers had to change focus with each wind condition and be careful not to get lost in the scenic views. |
